Symptoms of depression may include:- Preoccupation with negative thoughts Difficulty in concentrating Feeling in a low mood most of the time Feelings of numbness, emptiness or despair Low self-esteem Lack of sex drive Lack of confidence Pessimistic view of the future This is no a definitive list and you may experience all or some of these symptoms. You may also notice changes in your sleeping pattern, your eating habits, or there may be a rise in your alcohol or tobacco consumption. Depression Helping Yourself Knowledge is power. The more you learn about depression, the better equipped you will be to deal with it. Go to the library, do some research on the internet or join a self-help group where you can gather information about depression and the treatments available. Being aware of the choices available to you will help you to make an informed choice about treatment if you need to seek help from your healthcare provider. Try and break the hold that depression has on you. Join a club or self-help group where you can talk to people who have successfully overcome depression. Do something worthwhile. Keeping yourself busy will give you less time to dwell on pessimistic thoughts. Take up a hobby or why not join a gym. Regular exercise will have a mental and physical impact on your wellbeing. Partial Collars Make Interesting Additions

By Brad Hall There are times when a term or terms in the error coin world can mean more than one thing. This is true of partial collars as they relate to the broadstruck coins. Those two terms are directly related to one another by circumstance but the difference between the two errors is easily seen and is hardly ever confused to say the least. Partial collars are errors that occur when a coin fails to fall all the way into the retaining collar and is struck. This is how they are related to the broadstruck coins but the difference remains in how they are struck and the end result of it all. With a broadstruck coin you get the appearance of off center, with a thinning of the planchet at the point of the strike with the whole image shifted to one side or another. Now, with partial collars you get a completely different result. When the coin fails to fall into the collar with this occurrence you get an edge that is similar in design to the wheels on a train car. The partial collars are normally referred to as railroad rims and it is easy to see why. This makes them in the same region of the error coin world as the broadstruck error coins but completely different in a way. One matter is the fact that broadstruck coins are more valuable overall then the partial collars. This speaks to the dramatic difference in the two and the appearance of the overall error in question. In most cases you can pick up a partial collar error for a few dollars while examples from the older days of coins may command a higher price. The eye appeal of the partial collars is the most valuable thing about them. This is difficult because most collectors will want to encase their coins for protection which means that the error is not visible when it comes to partial collars. All in all the partial collars make a neat addition for the novice collector but hold little value for those that are seeking investment quality coins. Brad Hall is the editor for http://us-mint-coins.blogspot.com the number one resource for partial strike error information on the web. Growing Ferns in a Greenhouse

By Liza Othman For greenhouse or house decoration, or for supplying florists with "green," ferns, and Adiantums in particular, are very useful. While many species are easiest propagated by the division of the plants, others are commonly grown from spores, which should be sown at once, although the spores from some species can be kept for some time. They should be sown either in pans or pots, or on beds, using garden loam, over which half an inch of fine sphagnum should be placed. Moisten this thoroughly and scatter the spores evenly over it, and after sprinkling cover with glass. Water only when they show they are dry. Keep covered until the seedlings have started. It will be best to prick out the young seedlings into flats, from which they should later be transferred to pots. Pot them in soil one-half leaf mold and the remainder of loam and sand. For propagating on a large scale, a box covered with a glass sash, of suitable size, will answer. The seed bed can be prepared upon the bench itself. Ferns for dwellings should be grown at 55 to 60 degrees, as they will then be firm and well hardened, and will thrive far better than soft, spindling plants, in the dry atmosphere of the living room. For small fern pans, two or three plants will be enough. Fern pans can be filled to advantage by using some erect growing kind in the center, with fine Adiantums, Selaginellas or similar kinds, around it. Many varieties are readily increased by dividing the crowns. To increase them rapidly, they should be bedded out where they can be kept well moistened at a temperature of 60 to 65 degrees. In dividing and transferring to pots, it is hardly desirable to make a very fine division, as, although more plants can be obtained, they will be slower in starting and less satisfactory. During the spring and early summer, the young plants should be kept in a cool house or in a frame, where they can be properly shaded and watered. If to be used for cutting, the best results can be obtained if the plants are bedded out. This should be done early in August, in order that the plants may have time to develop and harden off. The beds should contain from four to five inches of compost, consisting of two parts pasture sods and one part each of sand and rotten manure. For most ferns a temperature of 60 to 65 degrees is desirable, and the stove ferns are benefited if it is slightly higher, although some of the greenhouse species do well if it is considerably lower. For the florist's use, in addition to the well-known Adiantum cuneatum and gracillimum, such others as A. eleyans, A. Capillus-Voneris, A. continuum and A. c. latum, A. St. Catherina and A. decorum will be useful. Adiantum Farleyense is among the best of the Adiantums for decorative purposes, but except for very elaborate cut-flower work, it will be less useful than some of the more delicate sorts. The Pteris serrulata and P. s. cristata, and other forms that are readily grown, are also desirable for planting out, either on or under the benches, while Pteris tremula, and its variegated form, P. aryyrea, and P. cretica alba lineate should not be neglected. When ferns are shifted, or planted out, they should be shaded from the blight sun for several days, and the foliage should be frequently syringed. If to be used for cutting, after they have made their growth, the shading should be taken off, and abundant ventilation should be given, in order that the fronds may harden off, and thus stand up longer when used. The florist will find specimen plants, and baskets and pans of ferns useful in decorating his house, as well as for outside work. If well grown and of well selected kinds, the visitor will be attracted to them, and they will have a ready sale. Keep Your Food Safe From Deadly Pesticides and Herbicides By Growing Hydroponic Vegetables At Home

By Rory Larkey Hydroponics is a great, fun and clean way to grow plants indoors by supplying water, nutrients, and oxygen to their roots. Hydroponic growing is perfect for fruit bearing crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, lettuce and herbs. By synthetically controlling every aspect of the garden, almost any kind of plant imaginable can be grown using hydroponics! The majority of hydroponic gardeners plant crops similar to what they would grow in a soil garden. If it can be grown in a pot with soil it can also be grown by using hydroponics with a soilless medium. In your indoor Hydroponic garden you must be the sole creator of all aspects of the plants environment A plant doesnt require soil to grow. There is no soil in a hydroponics garden, so the plants need to be anchored some how. There are many items which can be used to support plants, these are called soilless mediums. Clay pebbles and Rockwool are the most popular medium. These soilless mediums work best because they are pH neutral and provide plenty of support for plants. They retain moisture, and allow for good air circulation. pH is one of the most disregarded aspects of gardening, pH is very important in hydroponics gardening. pH is measured on a scale of 1-14 with 7 being "neutral". Anything lower than 7 is acidic and anything above 7 is alkaline (bases).
All plants require a certain pH level in order to produce optimum results. The pH level will vary from plant to plant, but in general the majority prefer a slightly acidic level (between 6.0 - 6.5), though most plants can still tolerate an environment with a pH of between 5.0 and 7.5. The preferred method of checking and adjusting pH levels is to use a pH meter. pH adjustments can be made by simply adding a small amount of pH up or pH down solution to your reservoir. Starting your garden out by planting seeds can be one of the most enjoyable parts of gardening. Seedlings dont require as an intense amount of light as does a more mature plant. You will want to use a florescent light about 2 above the top of your seedlings. Too much intense light and heat will burn them up and kill them. You will need a propagation tray and humidity dome. Use these to keep your medium and seeds in the perfect environment. The preferred method for growing vegetables, flowers and herbs year round is with HID lighting, it stands for High Intensity Discharge Lighting, which is a special type of lighting that is much more intense than any other grow lights.
Decide what size of light to use.
First you need to figure out the square footage of your indoor garden. To do this you will need to measure the space.
This is how to find the square footage of your grow space. (Width x Length= Square Feet) Example: if you want your indoor garden to be in your closet which is 3x4, you will find this room to be 12sq.ft. (You will also want the height of your room to be at least 4 above the canopy of your plants.) For most grow operations an 8-10 foot ceiling will work fine. This will allow you to keep your lamp at least a minimum of 18 above the top of your plants. (HID lights get hot and can burn the tops of your plants.) Next you will need to know how many watts/square foot of light your plants will require. For Example, tomatoes need to attain around 40-50 watts per square foot for optimal growth. You then would take 50 watts x 12sq. ft. = 600 watts. This means that you will need a 600watt light to maintain your plants optimal growth in this particular garden. (Plants wattage needs x Square Feet = HID light requirement.) There are 6 basic types of hydroponics systems

1. Drip
2. Wick
3. Ebb and Flow
4. Water Culture
5. N.F.T
6. Aeroponic

A basic Drip system may be the most common of all the hydroponics systems. Drip systems are very easy to use and maintain. An inexpensive submergible pump is used to pump up the nutrient solution onto the soilless medium and onto the plants root system. The nutrient solution then drips back into the reservoir continually repeating this cycle allowing oxygen to be pushed into the solution naturally as it rises and falls. A Drip system can be built as easy as using a new clean 5 gallon bucket, and purchasing a custom made net to hold your medium, and a small submersible pump. The 5 gallon bucket allows for a lot of space for roots to grow. A premixed nutrient solution is the best way of knowing that your plants get a well balanced diet. There are many brands and types of good hydroponics nutrients on the market. You can be sure that these premixed solutions contain all of the necessary trace elements. Hydroponics nutrient solutions quality is identified by three different numbers such as 15-10-15. These numbers stand for the percentages by weight of the three most primary nutrients: nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium. Most plants prefer to be between 55-80 degrees F. with the average tempatures at around 72 degrees F. When the lights are on they are a great source of heat as well as light. If temperatures should become too high, exhaust blowers will work well to reduce the temperature. Exhaust blower fans can be easily linked to a thermostat controller to ensure that your room never reaches the high temperatures that can have a negative effect on plants and growth rates. Intake and exhaust fans are rated by there volume of air movement in cubic feet per minute. You will need to know how many cubic feet your grow room has, to do this you measure the length x width x height of your grow space. For a space 3'x4'x10' you will have 120 cubic feet of air space. Fountain Pen History

By Eddie Tobey The urge to write and draw can be dated back to the early ages of human civilization. Caves discovered by archeologists are proof of the attempts of the primitive men to draw and write. From engraving on stone plates and cave walls to writing on palm leaves and hieroglyph inscriptions, mankind has been trying to preserve its thoughts using various implements: sharp stones, reeds, metals and quills. The invention of ink and paper changed the mode of writing by scratching. Quills were dipped in a reservoir of ink and used for writing. Holding a thin quill didnt suit to writing for long hours. It struck the early inventors that the hollow channel in a birds feather can store ink for writing. The fountain pen in its raw form was born. The first mention of fountain pen can be traced to the Egyptians. Hassan El Basha Mamoud an Egyptian scholar translated a manuscript from Fatimid dynasty dating to 969 AD, which talks about using a pen without an inkpot. A pen was made of gold and presented before the caliph. It had its own ink reservoir. But the pen leaked, and hence a better one was ordered. The same pen with modifications was presented. This time, there was no ink spill when the pen was tilted to all sides. The pen wrote fluidly on contact with paper, and ink disappeared as soon as the pen was lifted from the surface of paper to the amazement of the onlookers. Except for the writing on the manuscript, there was no other evidence that such a writing implement was ever used. The earliest fountain pen was designed by M. Bion, a Frenchman, in 1702. There were many producers of fountain pens in the early 1800s. John Scheffer, a Britishman, mass-produced fountain pens that were half quill and half metal. The ink was stored in sheeps gut. But all such early attempts at holding ink in hard rubber tubes with a metal nib at the bottom were messy. Necessity is the mother of invention, and its wonderful how path breaking inventions are made. Lewis Waterman, the inventor of the fountain pen used widely, determined to do something after a valuable contract document was destroyed by spilling ink from the pen he usedan insurance salesman turned into an inventor. Waterman patented the fountain pen in 1884, and started mass-producing it. The fountain pen in its true form was born. Fountain Pens provides detailed information on Fountain Pens, Fountain Pen Cases, Fountain Pen Refills, Fountain Pen History and more. Fountain Pens is affiliated with Fountain Pens. Surgical Options For Fibroid Removal

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Nakul_Jain] Nakul Jain The treatment of fibroids depends primarily on the amount of trouble that is caused due to their presence. Many women do not even get to know the presence of fibroids unless they undergo some medical check up.Most women also carry a pregnancy easily though after most surgical options ,it is more difficult to carry a pregnancy. If fibroids are not causing problems and discomfort there is no need for any treatment other than regular medical checkups. If the fibroids cause pain, heavy or lengthy menstrual bleeding, or other pregnancy related problems, a surgery may be required. The two kinds of surgery most commonly performed are hysterectomy and myomectomy. If the fibroids appear just before menopause then medication or simple surgery can be used to shrink them as they shrink naturally during menopause. There are many treatment options available depending on the particular patients condition and age: 1.Hysterectomy
2.Myomectomy
3.Hysteroscopic resection
4.Embolization
5.Laparoscopic surgery
6.Medication Hysterectomy Hysterectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the uterus, usually along with the cervix. This is the most common and permanent cure of fibroids. But a big drawback of this surgery is that a woman cannot ecome pregnant or carry a baby after this surgery. This option is only considered if the fibroids are too large. A hysterectomy is performed by making an incision in the abdomen. Sometimes the ovaries are also removed along with the uterus and cervix. The decision to remove the ovaries depends on how close the woman is to menopause or if the ovaries are diseased. Vaginal hysterectomy or Laparoscopic vaginal hysterectomy can be performed if fibroids are smaller in size, The uterus can be removed through the vagina instead of the abdomen. The hospital stay for hysterectomy is 2-5 days. The patient fully recovers after 6 week. For six weeks it is advisable to avoid driving, heavy lifting, sexual intercourse and vigorous exercise. Complications after the surgery could be infection, internal bleeding (hemorrhage) needing blood transfusion or injury to other pelvic organs such as the bladder, bowel, or ureters. Myomectomy Myomectomy is a method to remove fibroids without removing the uterus. This surgery allows the woman to bear children, but only 50% women can carry a successful pregnancy after a myomectomy. Myomectomy is performed through an incision in the abdomen with the assistance of a laparoscope or
hysteroscope. Risks after the surgery include: Heavy bleeding can occur. A woman is more likely to need a blood transfusion after a myomectomy than after a hysterectomy.
Scarring can occur covering the ovaries or blocking one or both of the fallopian tubes which does not allow the tubes to pick up the eggs after ovulation.
The surgery weakens the uterus walls. For delivery of a baby the patient has to go through a cesarean section as labor contraction could tear or rupture the wall.
Infection
Blood clots in the legs.
Reoccurrence of fibroids For removal of small fibroids newer kinds of surgeries are available. The benefits of these options are These options do not require abdominal surgery.
They could require an overnight hospital stay but mostly no stay is needed at all.
They are cheaper and recovery is quick and less painful.
They also show better cosmetic results as barely any stitches are made.
Patients recover completely within one week or maximum two Hysteroscopic resection A thin telescope or hysteroscope is inserted through the cervix. As it allows the surgeon to see inside the uterus, the fibroids can be removed using a laser, electrical knife or wire. It does not require any incision.
The procedure is performed under general or local anesthesia. Embolization Under this procedure the fibroids are made to shrink as the blood supply is cut off. Using an X-ray image, a small catheter is threaded through a tiny incision in the groin into the main arteries that supply blood to the uterus. Small particles of plastic are inserted through the catheter to block these blood vessels. Because smaller arteries continue to be connected to the uterus, there is no damage caused. This is all done under local or general anesthesia. The procedure takes an hour.It is necessary to lie flat on the back for 6-7 hours after the surgery to stop the bleeding from the incision. It would take a week to recover completely during which some patients have fever. Laparoscopic surgery Under this form of surgery a pencil-thin surgical telescope called laparoscope is inserted through one or more tiny incisions in the abdomen to remove the fibroids. Laparoscopic myomectomy is used for small and easy to reach fibroids and an incision in the uterus is made to remove them. Laparoscopic myolysis is a procedure used for bigger or difficult to reach fibroids. A laser or electric needle is used to destroy or shrink them. Medication 1. Certain drugs called Gonadotropin releasing hormone agonists (GnRH agonists) can also be used to treat fibroids. They indirectly block production of estrogen which shrinks the fibroids. Once the size of the
fibroids is reduced to one thirds,it is easier to remove them through vaginal hysterectomy or laparoscopic surgery ,rather than abdominal surgery which is more complicated. It can also be used for women close to menopause as fibroids shrink naturally after menopause. It is available as Lupron (leuprolide),Synarel (nafarelin) and Zoladex (goserelin) Disadvantages and side effects of these drugs are:- If these drugs are consumed for more than 6 months, it causes bone loss leading to osteoporosis or joint pain.
Once the drug consumption stops, the fibroids grow back.
Most women stop having menstrual periods during the period of drug consumption.
This drug has a similar effect as menopause, hence causes all problems that are seen during menopause such as Hot flashes, vaginal dryness ,irregular vaginal bleeding ,mood swings and low sex drive 2.To reduce heavy bleeding due to fibroids, Progestogen or Androgens are also given as synthetic hormones. But they do not shrink the fibroids. Sometimes GnRH agonist is prescribed in combination with a low dose of estrogen or progestogen, which reduces the side effects of GnRH agonists. For example, autoresponders can be used to send information about your services or products, they can answer the most FAQ's about your products or services. Maybe you even want to offer your site visitors a special bonus of some kind, such as advice or relevant articles. All of this can be handled by an autoresponder. Additionally, you can advertise your business and then build stable relationships with your customers by using autoresponders. This is automation at its finest. Autoresponder programs vary from software that runs with your email program to a specialized script that runs on your web hosting company's server. This kind of script may use a web page form or simply operate with your email account. This kind of script is programmed to send out a standardized message whenever an email is received. The message is sent to a particular script or email address. Some autoresponders can do more than simply send out email messages. They can send out an unlimited number of follow-up messages sent at predetermined day or time. For example, you can set your autoresponder to send out a new message every day for as long a period as you desire. The choice is up to you. It's probably a good idea to attach a signature to every email that is sent out. This works as a repeated reminder of your business identity every time a customer sees it. This is important because your customers can erase your emails by accident and then are not sure how to get a hold of you. The more they look at your signature, the more likely your company will spring to mind when your particular service or product is needed. Plus if they forgot your url it is right there easy for them to click on and access. There are a number of autoresponders you can use. Try http:/www.getresponse.com, http://www.adweber.com, http://www.fastfacts.net. Or go onto Google and you will find also a long list of free and paid autoresponder companies. Personally I would go with the paid ones they seems to be have more support available and this is most important for those new to auto responders. Autoresponders are an effective and powerful marketing tool, allowing you to make contact with thousands of potential customers. This is an invaluable asset considering how many potential customers you usually have contact with before you make an actual sale. Essentially, an autoresponser allows you to automate part of your marketing campaign and as they say say Time is Money. Financial Help For Single Mothers

By Peter Emerson Financial aid for single mothers is available either through federal welfare services or through private organizations. Who is qualified? Not all single mothers can take advantage of special financial help packages. Only those whose earnings fall below a certain level are considered low-income individuals and qualify for welfare benefits. To find out if you qualify for and may avail yourself of federal welfare services, you must complete the application form available at your local welfare office. Each program has its own income limits. Whether or not your income falls within the limit depends on the type of income you have, your family's expenses, and any other special circumstances your family may have. Each program also has resource limits. Things that can be converted to cash (bank accounts, stocks, and other properties) are considered to be resources. Only certain non-U.S. citizens may receive welfare benefits. Check with your local office for details. What happens if you are not qualified? If you do not qualify for welfare benefits, or if your needs are not covered by any specific welfare program, you may take advantage of grants offered by the U.S. government to single mothers. In exchange for the grant, you must perform some service or task required by the grant terms. There are 900 grant programs offered by 26 federal grant-making agencies. Some grant categories are agriculture, art, and education. You may visit www.grants.gov and www.neh.gov for details on grant application. Other sources Many schools offer scholarships specifically to single mothers. In order to find out about these, you may visit the financial aid office of the school you are currently attending or wish to attend. There are also some private organizations that give grants and financial assistance to single mothers. Singlemom.com has a financial gifting program. It awards cash grants to deserving single mothers every month. Many other similar organizations have grant and financial aid information on the Internet. Financial Help provides detailed information on Financial Help, Financial Help For Single Mothers, Free Financial Help, Temporary Financial Help and more.
