For many on the dating scene "ever lasting love" is their ultimate goal but how do you find someone to go on a date with and once you do how do you go from date to relationship? Start Out Small & Slow While the person you're dating may be looking for Mr. or Mrs. Right, they may not be looking for Mr. or Mrs. Right now, meaning pull in the reins and go a little slower. But let's start at the beginning instead of jumping straight to the finish line. Let's get back to the basics. To get back to basics, let's start with a history lesson. Dating can be a scene right out of your high school memory banks. Many are haunted by memories of their first date and the nervous tension that resulted from the anticipation of it: "Did I pick the correct outfit?" "Will I smell good to them?" "Is my breath okay?" "What will I say during those awkward moments of silence?" Things haven't changed that much since high school. Often the same questions come to mind and you will still get that same sense of nervous anticipation before embarking on a first date with someone. Dating can be a very intimidating time to even the most experienced and savvy dater. Recently I asked both men and women who dated frequently (3-4 times a week on average) if they still got first date jitters. The same answer echoed through 93% and that was a resounding, "Yes!" Amazingly enough, even those people who seemed confident and poised; those who seemed to have an endless amount of dating potential as well as a line of prospective suitors, still got first date jitters. So for those singles that still have troubling memories of their past dating experiences, how do you jump into the dating pool and begin to swim again? Unlike swimming in a pool filled with water, don't dive into the deep end of the dating pool first, even if you remember how to swim. There may be sharks lurking waiting to attack. It's always best if you begin in the shallow end of the pool. Start out small by meeting people in groups at functions until you feel comfortable enough to seek out a dating partner. After that hurdle is crossed then by all means dive right in to the dating pool! Finding People to Meet Where can you find a dating pool in your area? Because many people have a select group of friends, they tend to see the same people at all of the functions, B-B-Q's, parties and other events. Same faces with the same stories that become all too familiar. So where do you meet compatible and available singles? Here are a few suggestions: Find charity events in your area and attend them.
Look in your local paper for events that singles would go to. Social functions, chess caf's, ice cream socials, etc.
Find sporting clubs. (The kind of clubs that actually have participation such as water or snow skiing trips.)
Take a specialty course at a junior college or community center.
Go to your local coffee caf and sit on the comfortable chairs that are in the round to make conversation more likely.

On What Rock Is Jesus Christ Building His Church?

By Alan D Campbell Introduction While many people think that Jesus worked only with wood because he is referred to as a carpenter in Mark 6:3, the Greek word translated there as carpenter is tekton, which has a much broader meaning. It can mean any craftsman, workman, or builder in addition to a carpenter. A builder at that time worked not only with wood but also with stone. Tekton is the word from which we get the word tectonic as in tectonic plates, which are the massive slabs of solid rock that make up the earths crust. That Jesus had familiarity with working with rocks is evident from his sayings in the gospels, including his statement in Matthew 7:24-27 about how a wise man builds his house upon a rock, which is the Greek word petra. Some churches claim that the apostle Peter was the rock on which Jesus Christ is building the church. What is the truth? On what rock is Jesus Christ building his church? The purpose of this article is to prove that Jesus Christ himself, not Peter, is the rock on which Jesus Christ is building his church. The Large Rock at Caesarea Philippi It was in the region of Caesarea Philippi where Jesus Christ told Peter that he [Jesus Christ] would build the church upon a rock. That such a conversation took place in the region of Caesarea Philippi is interesting. Jesus Christ often taught using metaphors and parables related to the physical context in which he taught. The city of Caesarea Philippi was built on top of an enormous rock. It was a massive wall of rock that went straight up over 100 feet and it was about 500 feet wide. The city was formerly called Panias, after the Greek god Pan which people worshipped there after the citys conquest by Alexander the Great. King Philip enlarged it and rededicated it to honor Caesar and himself. That is why it was called Caesarea Philippi. The scripture on which some churches rely for their teaching that Peter was the rock on which Jesus built the church is Matthew 16:13-20: 13When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 20Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. (KJV) Jesus worked as a tekton or builder. He used his experience to explain that he would build his church and he would build it upon the rock of himself Peter was not the only disciple to whom Jesus Christ gave the power to make binding decisions. In Matthew 18:18, he gave all the disciples the power to make binding decisions, but he gave none of them permission to change the law of God. Petros v. Petra One explanation for this scripture is simply the difference in meanings for the Greek words petra and petros. Petra means a large rock, cliff, or ledge, while petros means a rock or stone. However, some people might argue that Jesus Christ likely spoke the words recorded in Matthew 16 in Aramaic rather than in Greek. In Aramaic, there is only one word for rock and that is kepha. The word kepha has no gender distinction just as the word rock has no gender distinction in English. In Greek, petros is of the masculine gender and petra is of the feminine gender. Is there additional evidence that Jesus Christ, not Peter, is the rock on which Jesus Christ is building the church? Yes, there is. No Mention of an Exalted Role for Peter After Matthew records the statement of Jesus telling Peter that the church would be built upon a rock, Matthew never mentions anything about an exalted role for Peter. Peter greatly influenced the writing of the gospel according to Mark. And Mark never mentions anything about an exalted role for Peter either. Notice, that Jesus said that he would build his church. It was not to be the church of Peter. Peter was a bold and courageous man, but he never exalted himself. He never sought to have men bow down before him. When Cornelius saw Peter he fell down before him to worship him, but Peter lifted him up and said that he too was a man (Acts 10:25-26). Peter Was a Leading Apostle Peter was a leading apostle (Matthew 10:2, Acts 2:37, and Galatians 1:18-19), but the Bible nowhere states that he was the chief apostle. The apostle Paul said that Peter was to be blamed for not eating with gentiles (Galatians 2:11), which shows clearly that Peter was not infallible and was subject to correction. Paul also said that he was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles (II Corinthians 11:5). Paul indicates that Peter, James, and John (Galatians 2:9), were pillars who were also witnesses to the transfiguration of Jesus (Matthew 17:1-9). Paul did not say that any apostle served as the chief apostle. Paul also said that he was not less than the leading apostles. What Did Peter Write About Rocks or Stones? Peter wrote more about about stones in I Peter 2:4-8: 4To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. (KJV) Peter also clearly indicates states Jesus Christ is the chief cornerstone in his message recorded by Luke in Acts 4:8-12: 8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, 9If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; 10Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV) The Foundation of the Church of God On what rock did the apostle Paul say the Church of God was being built? He tells us in Ephesians 2:19-21 19Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: (KJV) Paul again states clearly that Jesus Christ is the foundation of the church in I Corinthians 3:11. Conclusion After Jesus Christ had fasted for 40 days and 40 nights, Satan tempted him to make stones into bread (Matthew 2:2-4). However, Jesus Christ did not yield to Satans temptation. Instead, Jesus Christ as the bread of life (John 6:35), became a stonethe chief cornerstone of the Church of God (Ephesians 2:20). Jesus Christ is the rock on which he is building the Church of God. Peter, the other apostles, and the prophets make up the rest of the foundation. Christians are also a part of the Church of God in that they are living stones (I Peter 2:5). Just as Jesus wrote the 10 commandments with his own finger on tables of stone, he is writing his law on the hearts of his disciples (Hebrews 8:10) as the living stones added to the foundation of the Church of God. Jesus Christ is the rock that is the cornerstone of the Church of God; he is the builder of the church; and he will complete it as a temple that is fitly framed together. Alan D. Power Struggle!

By Joseph Ghabi The greatest asset we have in human existence is our soul growth, but somehow we have that confused with becoming powerful. Power does not bring growth unless we understand the essence of sharing that power. The struggle for power is a main characteristic in basically all of our relationships. The main types of relationships I recognize and have categorized into three main groups for you are work relationships, family relationships, and emotional relationships. The way I can understand and relate to when it comes to our relationships is as follows, a relationship is basically the cooperation between any two people, on whatever level they are working on. Very simple, yet its apparently very hard for most of us to deal with in our lives. In many instances as we can see, cooperation between those people involved in the relationship tends to exist as a power struggle, in terms of who will succeed in gaining control or domination over the other person in order to meet their own needs or requirements. In such a case, the dominant one is losing his or her growth and in effect, the victim is achieving the growth of both people involved in that relationship. What do I mean by that? Think about it! We do obtain a greater amount of grow in experiencing a bad situation. When you are the abuser, it is a likely case that in reality, you do not understand yourself what you are doing. Many of the people who have been a victim of abuse are carrying the burden of a situation or circumstance they grew up in, in terms of being abused. They might not have been granted any chance to learn how to understand, accept, and deal with this experience of being abused. In effect, they do not know any better, but at the same time they are going backward in their own life until they begin to understand the experience and their lesson fully. Unfortunately for those who are being or have been abused, this is a process of which they had to go through. In some instances it is part of Karma, but the lesson to be learnt here is how to handle the situation and get out of it without being hurt and having a deeper scar than that intended in the first place. In this case the abuser will gain much more in their understanding of the experience unless, of course, they choose not to learn their lesson. I would like to put this into perspective because in certain situations where the abuser has become accustomed to being abused and complaining about his/her situation, it is eventually taken for granted as being an easy way of bringing attention to themselves and to gain sympathy from others. However, that will eventually lead to becoming a pattern and a vicious circle. We can choose to either complain as much we like about our situation or we can do something to try to improve it. It is up to you to be the judge in your own situation. At the end of the day, we do have the power to do improve our lives and achieve our growth it is not up to anyone else to change that. Have we ever wondered why we feel the need to control our partner? If this is the case, why are we in the relationship in the first place? Are we trying to prove something to ourselves, in order to fill the gap of something that is lacking? Perhaps we need that extra confidence that we think we are achieving when we are in control of someone elses life, making him or her feel insecure as a result of that domination. I believe there are many possible reasons and many questions and their answers come from the need to look to our inner selves in the first place. In many relationships of our time and from what we can see with the people in our surroundings, we become able to evaluate the way they respond to conflicts or harsher situations in their lives. The initial response and what appears to be an easy escape is that we always tend to shift the blame to the other person involved and claim we have nothing to do with the incident in the first place. We like to proclaim that he or she was manipulating our weakness or our self-confidence and used it as a weapon against us. This may be the case, but we do have responsibility for ourselves and should NOT allow for such treatment to take place. One thing I personally cannot understand is why we allow our emotions to overpower our rational mind when the people around us who really do care are constantly reminding us we should leave the situation that is bringing us pain and hurting, but we choose not to listen to anyone. Many people have told me it is easier said than done! I dont think so! When we are in any situation where we can see no apparent opportunity of growth in that relationship, but we choose to stay anyway even though we are being hurt in the process, well, there is no excuse! Sometimes we are afraid of leaving, this may well be the case, but we need to find out why we are afraid and what it is exactly we are afraid of. That might help!!! It is apparent to me that on most occasions our pride and ego are taking the best out of us in terms of accepting humility, which is essential sometimes and will enable us to put our life back in order when we see the truth from a different perspective. When we are able to drop the ego and pride, we do see the situation in a whole new light. There is nothing wrong in being humiliated from time to time and when necessary because that will build up our self-confidence to move forward in life with a new understanding and awareness in light of the situation. Another problem that I feel occurs frequently when dealing with relationships is that we always seem to have a hard time in letting go of the previous experience we passed through. The letting go is an essential factor here and must be fulfilled in order to allow any new experience to take effect in our lives. In reality we will never go backwards in life unless we allow it to happen. The choice is in our own hand. Letting go is the most important factor of our growth and we must learn to master the art of letting go to break ourselves free by accepting the experience as being just an experience for what it really is, and most importantly, without keeping any bitterness in our hearts which can take control in our next relationship. The only way we can move on and allow new opportunities for growth to come into our life is by investing in our next relationship instead of withdrawing due to us being afraid of getting hurt. The card is not free. It usually cost 10 bucks or so.
But you get a 10% discount on most of your future purchases so it always seem like a good deal to me. If I buy at least a hundred dollars worth of stuff in the next 12 months, I'm at breakeven. If I spend 200, I've saved an extra $10.
Unfortunately, I have no idea how the exact numbers work out for the stores, but I absolutely love this concept.
Here's why:
First, most people are buying less than one hundred dollars during their first purchase. Obviously, you get a discount on that purchase if you buy the discount card at the same time.
Let's say you're spending 20 dollars so you save 2 of those. Your net cost is 8 dollars.
And the store has an immediate profit of 8 bucks!
If you never ever show up in that store again, they've made a huge profit.
Second reason: Presumably...whenever you think about going to buy books in the future, you're going to think that it's pretty stupid if you buy books at any other bookstore. That means you return to the store to spend more money.
The bookstore wins again because (a) you came back and (b) you're spending still more money!
Of course, the bookstore is not doing anything wrong and this can be a real benefit to a frequent shopper.
My point in this message is that you should think about some way that your business can use this idea. How can you get people to join your club for a fee and then get valuable discounts whenever they come back and shop with you.
As marketers, we need to constantly be thinking about how we can copy the strategies that we see working in other businesses and apply them to our businesses.
A mistake that many people make is thinking that their business is different so the marketing rules change.
Not so! The principles of marketing are universal and apply to all types of business in all countries.
The savvy businessperson continues to study and apply these principles to constantly increase their profits!

thing that walmart does is MEET COMPETITORS PRICING so that
you can get all of the sale prices in one place, but the
aggrevation of dealing with walmart is not worth it to me.
IF THIS IS THE ONLY LOCAL STORE YOU HAVE GO FOR IT.......
otherwise my suggestion is CHOOSE ANOTHER STORE! NOW that you have found your store ONLINE and their weekly
ads etc, find out their WRITTEN POLICY ABOUT COUPONS, does
it specifically say NO INTERNET COUPONS? DO THEY SEND OUT
INTERNET COUPONS THEMSELVES? DO they allow advertisers to
talk about their internet coupons ? BETTY CROCKER,
PILLSBURY, SMARTSOURCE, UPONS etc.......... if they do this
needs to be brought to their attention! NOW! I have included all of my stores that accept internet
coupons without question and a copy of the inquiry I sent
the ONLY time I have had issue with internet coupons and the
POSITIVE response I rec'vd as well. I have also written and
included a more updated FORM LETTER that you can feel free

Now your interested in creating patterns of your designs and becoming a WAHM to start your own pattern business. What is the first step you need to take to make that happen you ask? Well, first of all you need to understand the make up of a pattern. The following are the basic components of creating a pattern:

Back Cover Front Cover: This is where your banner, logo, website address, and picture of the design will go. Supply List: Using MS Word or Works, you'll need to type a list of all the required supplies for making your design. Be sure and include brand names if you used them. Also the supply list can go on the back cover and this makes it easy for the customer to see what is required without taking the pattern out of the bag. Instructions: The best way to create instructions is to take notes while your making the item. Type them out using MS Word or Works. Be as detailed as possible without writing War and Peace. Also remember to write your instructions as if your instructing a beginner. When your finished it's very important to proof read and use spell check. Templates: When you make your creation you should make sure you trace out templates on cardstock. So this way you can have them to trace onto paper again for the pattern. If you have shapes like circles or need straight lines, use a small glass, plate and a ruler. Trace your templates out on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Make sure your drawings are accurate in size and don't resemble being drawn by a 3 year old.
